SURVEY TO ASSESS SCIENCE COMMUNITY INTEREST IN ATLONTIS PROJECT CONCEPT:
Deep Sea Platform for Support of Scientific Research and Education
An alliance of public and private organizations is considering the use and re-purposing of decommissioned oil and gas platforms in the northern Gulf of Mexico for scientific research and monitoring. The platform may be located anywhere in the northern Gulf Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) lease areas out to 1000 meters of water depth. We ask for your assistance in filling out a short survey to assess your potential interest in this capability (described in detail in this summary document--
). Our goal is to assess interest and potential applications for conversion and operation of an OCS oil/gas platform for support for scientific research and environmental monitoring.
Thank you for your attention and response to the following short survey.
